      DETROIT – On June 8, the last F5 tornado to hit Michigan struck the Flint suburb of Beecher. At about pm, on Monday evening, June 8,a tornado touched down near the intersection of W. Coldwater and North Linden roads, just north of Flint.

Before the storm left Genesee County, people died in the Beecher district. The Flint-Beecher Tornado occurred on Monday, June 8,and ranks as the deadliest in Michigan history and the 10th deadliest in United States history.

Rated as an F5 on the Fujita Scale, the tornado touched down in Genesee County, Michigan, at p.m. ( UTC) and continued on a mile (43 km) path causing fatalities, injuries and an estimated $19 million ( USD) in Damage: $19 million ( USD).

Besides the Flint-Beecher tornado, several other tornadoes occurred in Michigan and Ohio late on the afternoon of June 8th. An F4 intensity tornado touched down near Temperance, moved east through Erie, and then traveled 44 minutes as a waterspout over Lake Erie, one of the longest waterspout tracks on record.
